Post operatory instructions for Tooth removal

After tooth removal

To ensure a smooth recovery after your tooth removal procedure, please follow these instructions carefully:

  1. Bite on the cotton: Keep the cotton in place for 45 minutes without chewing or moving it.

  1. Remove the cotton: Gently remove the cotton using your fingers, not by spitting it out.

  1. Stay hydrated: Drink chilled fresh fruit juice by sipping, similar to how you would drink water. Avoid using a straw. Opt for low-sugar or no-sugar options if you are diabetic.

  1. Avoid certain beverages: Refrain from consuming chilled carbonated or bottled drinks.

  1. Enjoy ice cream: You may have ice cream by placing it gently over the treated area for relief.

  1. Medication: Take your prescribed medications as directed.

  1. Avoid Touching the Area: Do not disturb the treated site with your tongue or fingers.

  1. No Spitting or Gargling: Do not spit, gargle, or use mouthwash for the first 24 hours. You may resume gentle brushing the following day.

  1. Use Ice Packs: Applying an ice pack or ice cubes on your face outside the affected area may help reduce swelling.

  1. Dietary Restrictions: Avoid hot, spicy, or hard foods for 2 days.

  1. No Smoking or Alcohol: Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol for at least 5 days.

  1. Mouth Opening: You can open and close your mouth normally, just like before the procedure.

  1. Stitch Care: If you had stitches, they should be removed after 5-7 days. If they happen to come out on their own before then, there’s no need for concern.
