Self-care: Kids dental

  • Gum care: After feeding, gently clean your child's gum pads with a soft, clean cloth wrapped around your finger.

  • Post-meal rinse: Rinse your child's mouth with water after each meal and massage the gums with your finger.

  • Brushing guidance: Parents should brush their child’s teeth until the age of four, after which supervised brushing should be encouraged.

  • Toothbrush selection: Use a child-size toothbrush with soft bristles for young children.

  • Toothpaste use: For children aged two and older, a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste is sufficient.

  • Spitting out toothpaste: Ensure your child spits out the toothpaste instead of swallowing it.

  • Brushing independence: Children should be able to brush their teeth independently by age seven.

  • Toothbrush replacement: Replace toothbrushes every three to four months.
